In terms of lens color, the appearance is a clear pink when not activated.
When exposed to UV light, the red tone deepens, changing to a rich red color.

Since these lenses do not include a mirror coating, your eyes remain visible both in activated and non-activated states.
At the same time, the absence of mirror glare provides a more comfortable and stress-free viewing experience.

This UV-reactive photochromic lens transitions from a high-visibility pink to a deeper pink close to red, enhancing contrast and visibility.

What is HCD?

HCD (High Contrast Definition) lenses are created using Light Management Technology (LMT).

This technology precisely suppresses specific wavelengths in areas where the three primary colors of human vision — red, green, and blue — tend to overlap and become difficult to distinguish.
By helping the brain accurately recognize the colors that the retina naturally perceives, HCD lenses enhance color contrast and provide a stress-free, high-quality visual experience.

These lenses offer contrast-enhancing functionality similar to Oakley’s Prizm™ lens technology.

About the Base Lens

Pink, brown, and copper-based lenses are widely known for their ability to maximize contrast enhancement.
Enhancing contrast means making it easier to clearly recognize what you want to see in any given situation. This helps you accurately judge distance to objects, which can significantly improve overall performance.

These lenses help you clearly and accurately recognize terrain, depth, and subtle differences in distance that may normally be difficult to detect with the naked eye — especially when objects are partially obscured by lighting angles or shadows.

They are suitable for a wide range of activities, including driving, motorcycling, snow sports, and many other outdoor situations.

In addition, the photochromic function automatically adjusts the brightness of your vision depending on conditions such as sunny, cloudy, or rainy weather, supporting clear visibility in changing environments.

(With polarized lenses, light reflections and shadows that naturally pass through the polarization filter may be reduced. While this helps eliminate glare, it can sometimes make it more difficult to perceive subtle terrain changes or depth accurately. In addition, polarized lenses may be less effective under cloudy or rainy conditions.)

When the photochromic function is not activated, the base lens color remains light, providing a bright and clear field of view.

When the photochromic function is activated, the base lens darkens, helping to reduce glare and improve visual comfort in bright conditions.

The tint does not change to extreme levels; instead, it smoothly adjusts between 75% and 36% light transmission, automatically adapting to surrounding conditions to maintain optimal visibility.
In addition, NXT® lenses are known for delivering an exceptionally clear and sharp visual experience.

Supplement:
When used while driving, the lens may not darken significantly because most car windshields already include UV protection, which reduces the UV exposure needed to activate the photochromic function.
